Dare to Dream
40-Hour
Bike Marathon
Imagine a
place in Ashtabula County where children can safely go.
A place for a free lunch or snack after school.
A place where there are after school programs and academic
tutoring, games and structured activities.
A place for children to grow, learn and dare to dream…such a
place as the
Ashtabula
Dream Center.
One
of the main purposes of the
Ashtabula
Dream Center is to reach out to children and youth not only in
the city of Ashtabula but also surrounding areas encompassing the entire
Ashtabula County. Part of the
vision of the Dream Center is to provide food and clothing for children
and families in need. Not
only do their physical concerns need to be met but also their
intellectual, social and spiritual needs as well. Developing programs to
meet the needs of the families and children and to do it at no cost to the
families is a large financial challenge.
So
this is where the “Dare
to Dream” 40-Hour Bike Marathon comes into play. As a
businessperson you know that programs such as these can require
substantial finances. So in
order to help provide working capital for programs that will benefit the
children, Pastor Duane E. Ball, Senior Pastor of
Harvest International Church and
Ashtabula
Dream Center, has once again listened to the direction of God
and is speeding down the road on his bicycle.
In two previous bike rides he raised enough money for a local
church to purchase two new vans for the ministry, and in connection with
Lea Sea ministries, two semi loads of food for the refugees in Kosovo.
The
“Dare to
Dream” 40-Hour Bike Marathon will
take place from Friday, September 14 at 7:00pm to Sunday, September16 at
11:00am. During this time,
Pastor Ball will take to the pavement and is determined to ride as many
miles as possible in this 40-hour period of time.
Taking time off only to eat and rest, Pastor Ball is in hopes of
riding a maximum of 200 miles and raising $5000 in order to fund programs
and purchase the items necessary for these programs to be instituted.
Special events and activities are also scheduled during this time.
We
are asking that you consider helping us in one these of various ways:
*Give a pledge of $40.00 (one dollar for each hour)
*Pledge a designated amount per mile (not to exceed 200 miles)
*Pledge the best amount you can for the
Dare
to Dream Bike Marathon
*Donate an item towards one of the
children’s programs
*Offer a great price or discount on an item that is needed for the
children
Of course, any contribution is tax deductible.
Please make checks payable to “Ashtabula Dream Center”.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the
Ashtabula Dream Center. Thanking you in advance, we know that with your help and
support, together we will make a big impact on the children and youth in
Ashtabula County…challenging them to
Dare
to Dream.
